The Society for Medieval Archaeology in Finland (Suomen keskiajan arkeologian seura - Sällskapet för medeltidsarkeologi i Finland ry) has been operating since 1990 and is a member of the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies.
The purpose of the society is to promote research and higher education in medieval and early modern archaeology. It arranges seminars, guest lectures and study trips abroad and in Finland. In addition to taking a stand on current issues of archaeology, the society also publishes the biannual scientific journal SKAS together with the scientific series Archaeologia Medii Aevi Finlandiae (AMAF).
